Julie earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Toronto in 2019. As an undergraduate, she conducted research in Dr. Junchul Kim’s laboratory, where she identified a novel projection from the ventral hippocampus to the anterior hypothalamus that modulates stress responses in mice. She later joined Dr. Michela Fagiolini’s laboratory at the F.M. Kirby Neurobiology Center, where she investigated experience-dependent neuronal control of CDKL5 in the mouse visual system. Julie’s current research in the Burghardt Lab focuses on the neural circuits underlying activity-based anorexia, a rodent model of anorexia nervosa.
